SOIL AND WINE MAKING

The vineyard is made up of two types of soil appreciably different, one argilo-calcareous, pebbly and the other sandy. The appropriate soil and sunshine of the region make it possible for our wines to acquire all their richness.
The typicality and quality of our wines is also due to the selection made between various noble type of vines of the Rhône valley.

CONTROL OF THE VINE

Two techniques of pruning:
Cordon de Royat for the trained vines and the Goblet for the old vines.

Deweeding of the vines and work of the soil.
Since about fifteen years, the Domaine de Montine works in a structured control manner.

The average production of the estate is of 2800 hl/year, 10% of White, 30% of Rosé and 60% of Red.
The output is 30 to 50 hl/ha according to type of vines and soils.
Our wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks with temperature controls for fermentation and in concrete tanks for storage.
Equipped with an innovating infrastructure, the estate has however retained traditional methods to impart strength and elegance to its wines.

Our “Emotion” vintage is matured in barrels in our old vaulted cellars.

  • Our White wines: fine wines, with very aromatic fragrance, full and balanced. To drink within 2/3 years.
  • Our Rosé wines: for the summer, a fresh and fruity wine, sharp and delicate.
  • Our red wines: fruity wines to more structured wines and for keeping; our various vintages can retain all flavours of your meal.
